Better Sleep for Those Studied at HSCMC

Coulter Sleep Center has been providing services to HSC Medical Center since 2003. The mission of the center is to find effective solutions for those suffering from sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, excessive daytime sleepiness, periodic limb movement disorder, narcolepsy and somnambulism.

Patients who are studied at HSCMC can expect to find friendly, caring technologists and qualified sleep medicine physicians.  The sleep center at HSCMC provides a warm, comfortable home-like environment with lovely décor.

The Medical Director for our facilities is Dr. Gary Goza and our Director is Dr. Gordon Gibson.  Patients may be referred by their primary care physician or self-referral.

The study is a pain free test that involves being connected to a series of sensors, which allow digital acquisition software and a certified technologist the ability to monitor a patient while they sleep.  The test allows the patient mobility, in the event they need to get up or down during the ten hour test time.

Once the patient has been studied it generally takes forty-eight to seventy-two hours for the data to be read.  The patient is then contacted with results and treatment plan.  After one month of following the prescribed treatment plan, the patient is seen for follow up and to discuss any questions or concerns that may have arisen.

Dr. Goza and Dr. Gibson keep a watchful eye on the patient and their progress.  Patients are encouraged to contact the center or the physician should they encounter problems.  Coulter Sleep Centers has an open door policy and encourages feedback and input from the patient.

Those wishing to schedule a sleep study may do so by calling Jerry at central scheduling, 1-877-315-8818.  Those scheduling their study at HSCMC can expect to “Sleep like a baby.  Be treated like a king.”
